About

Background Information about Me:
Hi, I am Hillary! I just graduated from Grace Christian School in June 2021. I am planning to study psychology B.A. at the University of British Columbia this fall. I love reading, drawing, and playing the violin and tennis.

My Community:
I live in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. PEI is the smallest province in Canada. Charlottetown is the capital of PEI and is called the Birthplace of Confederation. People from my community are amiable. They are always willing to lean out a helping hand. People from PEI are very inclusive and welcoming.

Reasons for Me to Participate in the Virtual Exchange:
I am so grateful for this opportunity to meet young people from all across Canada and learn from them. I am passionate about discovering my community and Canada's diverse history, geography, languages, cultures, and ways of life.

Work

Gale Colpitts Abbey loves Prince Edward Island since moving to Charlottetown as a young child. She credits the encouragement of her art teachers in the island school system to Prince of Wales College, as they opened a world of creativity for her. Gale paints her drawings mostly in acrylic, sometimes in watercolor, oil, and mixed media. She uses many warm colors in her drawings to interpret the Island she loves. Gale studied studio painting at NSCAD and Acadia University. She is a part of the artists represented at Details Fine Art Gallery. The paintings are all created by Gale, who captures the moments in time and places of memory. Gale wants her paintings to bring a warm feeling and a smile of memory.
